Long time no see... it'll likely be

Yesterday evening a had a few drinks with the red globe couple to say my goodbyes before they leave for London a week from tomorrow. Everything is ready and they have a farewell party next Friday, but I won't be in town. If things work out for me as nicely as they did for them, I will be leaving to start a doctoral program around this time next year and we probably won't see each other for some 5 or 6 years... so it is a long farewell. Best of lucks to Drama guy and Uribita in their new pursuits in England. We'll be in touch... somewhat... and you'll always be in my thoughts. BTW... some breaking news... I got a letter from Fulbright this week saying I wasn't selected for their scholarship program. The reason they give, as if it mattered, is that because of my recent experience studying in the U.S. (2004-2005) it wasn't possible to select me. Bummer. Other options will present themselves. Whatever happens I still plan to leave in about a year, so keep wishing me luck.
