Still waiting on the job
Some time has passed since my last post, and yeah, well, I've been lazy, not done much, not posted much. There isn't any great news, really, and I've been at home a lot, sleeping, reading, or just hanging out.
Today I finally talked again to the person at the Ministry of Education that wants me to do the consulting on rural education and technology. She said the "términos de referencia" of the contract are almost ready (basically the job description) and she will send them later today or next week for me to revise. The problem is that they need to show that they interviewed at least three people for the job, and they haven't found any other person with the appropriate expertise... it seems I'm the only person who knows about both tech. and ed. Some people know of tech. and others know of ed., but nobody has my expertise, so they haven't been able to find other candidates, even though they are sure they want to hire me... is this bureaucracy, transparency, "gadejo" or what?

tell them they should interview me :)
Actually, I did tell them I knew people in the states with the required profile, and I could ask them for resumes. They laughed.
Ahhh bureaucracy! Don't you love it?
