Feaking Out

Friday I have to make a presentation about the possibilities for incorporating technology in the Ministry's Rural Education Project. My audience are the universities in charge of the final phase of professional development of "Computadores para Educar". I'm still processing some of the data I have, reading curricula from the models (i. e. going through primary school again) and putting my ideas together. It's taking way longer than I thought... I'm still not sure what I'm going to say.

Reclaiming hard drive space

My laptop, a Thinkpad T41, comes with a hidden partition that contains the backup of the original system. I ordered the CDs a long time ago and wanted to reclaim the disappeared hard drive space that was being pretty much useless. I tried partition magic, but it didn't even see it. GPart, running on a Ubuntu Linux live CD saw the partition and was able to format it, but back in Windows it disappeared. I finally figured out that I had get to the BIOS and unhide the damn thing. I managed and then was able to format it and reclaim 3.7 GB. I'm proud.

Mentes fugadas

Poker and vodka

Saturday I got to see Cali Girl and ex-Punk kid, her husband. It was her birthday, and we had a few drinks in a friend of hers' house. I drank vodka on the rocks and the next morning almost died of heartburn. It's funny how some drinks do that and some don't. Last week I had some whisky and all was fine. But vodka almost killled me. We had some laughs and I heard some funny stories about bachelor parties and such...

Update

I've been bad about blogging lately. I could say I am very busy, but all you bloggers know that we are all very busy and still can blog. I could also say I have little to say, which would be true, but you all know lack of content doesn't stop a blogger. So, here goes an update or whatever.
